“I took a group of 12 to ShaverHaven for the weekend. Sue and Roland really went above and beyond! The hospitality started before we even arrived. Let me explain. The directions were so detailed and hilarious, it felt like we were going on a treasure hunt! They literally listed all the great pit stops (including bathroom quality) along the way. We were provided with a full list of amenities AND How-To instructions for almost every question imaginable. Talk about well- prepared hosts! They were fantastic to work with and super friendly.
Everyone fell in love with the cabin when we got there. When we walked into the living room, there was many “oohs” and “aahs!” bShaverHaven was amazingly well-stocked, with all sorts of kitchen gadgets! From cooking up cheesecake to stew, it was almost like “The Room of Requirement” in Harry Potter. bJust think “hmm, I need a ________, and bam, it’s there in the cabinet.
And HOT TUB! We used it every single day we were there. bA perfectly kept 104 degree hot tub on a crisp and starry winter night? Ahhh, heaven!”

The Shaver Lake Cabin is absolutely amazing property with everything you need for an amazing kickback time in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We went on long hikes.. chilled by the lake and even ventured out to Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks. The cabin was great for cooking, grilling, sun bathing, fire placing, hot tubing and much more.. Susan and her husband were great hosts and were there for us every step of the way. If you don’t book this cabin you are missing out!

“A beautiful cabin in a peaceful area – even on the 4th of July! We especially appreciated the supplies that were available to us. “Three feet of snow fell after we arrived. The plows came through promptly to clear the road and the driveway. The cabin is as clean and beautifully equipped and sleeps ten very comfortably. There is a large master bedroom and bath downstairs; a half-bath and laundry room, too. Kitchen is well equipped and there’s plenty of room for 10 people, including kids, to move around. An ample dining table with comfortable chairs and a kitchen bar if that’s not enough. TV, recliner chairs and easy to use woodstove work great! What more can I say? Well, this: right out the back door is a hot tub for warming up even as the snow falls — and the woods for snow sleds. And if a walk in the neighborhood is all you need – that’s a delight as well. I highly recommend it. When you have a large group, it is truly an affordable vacation. Plus, there’s a very reasonably priced ski area nearby. “We are a group of 11 church friends from Orange County, CA ranging in age from twenties to thirties. We had so much fun! This is an incredible place for skiing, snowboarding, snow adventures and peaceful moments.
We usually open our weekly meetings with something called, “Apples and Onions.” This is an activity where each person shares a high point and a low point of their week. As a group our “Apple” was crossing Dinkey Creek to find the perfect sledding hill. Needless to say we found more than what we expected – we discovered an opportunity to grow together by having to cross the creek with slim to none foot holdings in our tennis shoes. In which no one escaped with dry feet. We had many laughs coming back from that adventure and a day of snowballs and friendship.
Our “Onion” would be that we had to leave this charming place sooner than we would have hoped. Work was calling us back home. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
